Navigating Grief:
Tools for Everyday Life
Hello Readers,
Welcome to my very first blog post.
If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure how to move through difficult emotions—especially during times of grief—you’re not alone. Many of us were never taught simple, effective ways to calm the body and mind when life feels heavy.
My name is Kevin McEvoy, and I’m a breathwork facilitator and educator. I trained and was certified by renowned teacher Max Strom, and my work focuses on helping people gently reconnect with their breath as a tool for healing, clarity, and calm.
On May 20th, from 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM, I’ll be leading a breathwork session at Beth Donovan Hospice in Kemptville, Ontario as part of their education series, Navigating Grief: Tools for Everyday Life.
This four-part series offers a practical and compassionate look at grief and how it shows up in everyday life. Sessions explore topics such as understanding grief, nutrition, stress, sleep, and simple ways to support yourself along the way.
During my session, we’ll explore:
- The benefits of breathwork for emotional and physical well-being
- The science behind how breathing impacts the nervous system
- Gentle, accessible breathing exercises to help you feel more grounded and calm
This session is designed to be approachable, supportive, and suitable for anyone—no prior experience needed.
Whether you’re currently navigating grief or simply looking for tools to better manage stress, this session can offer a space to pause, breathe, and reconnect.
The session is free to attend. If you’d like to join, you can register here:

I hope to see you there.
Warmly,
Kevin McEvoy
